Today marks 50 years since liberation leader, Chief Albert Luthuli died.
To commemorate this day, many people are making their way to the Groutville Sports Ground, where a government delegation led by President Jacob Zuma, will celebrate the memory of the former ANC leader.
People who started gathering, say they want to honour the memory of Luthuli who in 1960, was awarded a Nobel - becoming the continent's first Peace Prize laureate.
He was struck by a train while making his way to his home in Groutville in 1967.
President Zuma, who is due to address the crowd later, will first take part in a wreath laying ceremony at Luthuli's grave.
