AKA murder accused to continue bail bid on Tuesday
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Tuesday marked day three of the bail hearing of
five of the seven accused in the Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes and Tebello Motsoane
murder case.
The rapper and his friend were shot and killed on Durban’s Florida Road in February 2023.
The Durban Magistrate's Court is set to begin hearing why accused number four, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, believes he deserves bail.
Gwabeni is alleged to be the mastermind of the alleged assassination plot.
On Monday, his attorney tried to submit his client's affidavit before it could be read into the record in court.

However, state prosecutor Lawrence Gcaba told the court that other documents were attached to the affidavit.
These included correspondence between Gcaba and the attorney of accused number three in an email in connection with the two suspects nabbed in Eswatini.
Gcaba said he couldn't understand how the information, which was meant to be private, ended up in bail documents for accused number four.
He added a foreign charge sheet was included in Gwabeni's affidavit that appeared to be for Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, the brothers who're awaiting extradition from Eswatini.
His request for the uncertified document to be excluded was granted.
The case continues.
