AKA's family asks for space to deal with ‘sudden, untimely’ death

In a statement released by the family on Saturday morning, Tony and Lynn Forbes say they are waiting for further details from Durban police.

It is alleged that AKA was killed in a hail of bullets on close range while walking towards his vehicle on Friday evening.
Police say that the unknown assailants were walking on foot and disappeared across the street into the dark.
The late rap star was expected to debut his new album “Mass Country” in Durban, moments before he was killed.
The rapper’s family describes his sudden death as "untimely and tragic".
They add to many he was AKA, Supamega and Bhova – but they will remember him as a son who was loved and gave love in return.
The family continue to ask for space and time to deal with the shock and heartbreak, and to make the necessary decisions in the coming days.
The “Fela in Versace” hitmaker was only 35 years old.
Kiernan Forbes shot to fame after breaking away from Hip-Hop group Entity and releasing one of his debut single “Victory Lap” in 2010.
The late rap star was expected to debut his new album “Mass Country” in Durban when he was killed.
He leaves behind his daughter Kairo Forbes, girlfriend Nadia Nakai and his parents.
