Agriculture spokesperson, Phathiswa Mfuyo says these two have been contained and are being closely monitored.
"I can assure the public that there is no need to panic. We do not have an outbreak."
"It's two animals that were spotted through constant monitoring by our veterinarian services," said Mfuyo.
He is asking residents to be cautious and report any animals they suspect might be infected.
"We haven't had any human cases here in KwaZulu-Natal this year."
He says monitoring programmes by department officials has helped ensure that animals infected with rabies are caught, as in the eThekwini and Umhlathuze cases.
