Agricultural Union conducts survey on drought-stricken northern KZN
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Agricultural union, Kwanalu, says it's worried about KZN's northern region that's been hit by drought.
Jozini and other parts of the Umkhanyakude District have been having water supply problems.
They haven't received adequate rainfall in a while.
Three years ago - the district was declared a disaster area due to drought.
Kwanalu's Sandy La Marque says communities have been badly affected, especially small-scale farmers.

She says Kwanalu is currently conducting a survey with respect to the drought in northern KZN.
"The situation is quite dire for particularly our crop farmers and many of the cotton growers have been severely affected by the drought," adds La Marque
"We are looking at ways to which we can assist them and lobby on their behalf."
"They haven't had a lot of relief so these small-scale farmers are really struggling at the moment," she says.
