AfriForum to challenge SABC ‘banning’ of ‘Kill the Boer’ advert
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
AfriForum says the SABC won't silence it after the public broadcaster refused to air the lobby group's 'Kill the Boer' advert.

It's accused the SABC of gross censorship and says the ban goes against the broadcaster’s claims that it's impartial and against divisive statements.
The advert asks the public to support a campaign against polarising statements, such as the chant.
Earlier this month, EFF leader Julius Malema led a packed stadium in singing the song at the party's 10th anniversary rally in Johannesburg.
The Supreme Court of Appeal is due to hear AfriForum's appeal of the Equality Court's ruling that 'Kill the Boer' is not hate speech.
The organisation's Kallie Kriel says their legal team is ready for Monday's battle.
"The SABC has positioned themselves firmly behind the EFF and Julius Malema in their use of the divisive chant Kill the Boer, and they tried to do that by silencing the voices of an organisation like AfriForum."
The SABC says the ad can't be aired as the appeal hasn't been heard in court yet.
