African nations agree on climate change measures
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Fifty-four African nations have adopted a unified position, calling for an agreement to limit warming to 1.5 Degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels by the end of this century.

Africa is expected to be one of the continents hardest hit by climate change, with an increase in severe droughts, floods and storms expected to threaten the health of populations and economies alike.
The world's first comprehensive climate change agreement has been reached after almost 200 nations signed up to the deal at a summit in Paris.
In his address, French President Francois Hollande called on the nations to join in the fight against global warning.
"You will make a choice for your country, your continent but also a choice for the world. This will be a major leap for mankind".
