Advice for class of 2016 matrics
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The KZN Education Department has urged the matric class of 2016 to hit the ground running as the school year starts tomorrow.

Spokesperson Muzi Mahlambi says principals and teachers returned to school yesterday in preparation for the arrival of learners.
"Matriculants this year started interacting and exchanging notes with the previous matriculants last year as to how matric is. Some schools started operating as from last week. We are emphasising again that it's very important to start from the very first period of the academic year," he said.
The province's class of 2015 achieved a 60.7% matric pass rate - a steep decline from the previous year's 69.7%. Twelve of KZN's schools recorded a 0% matric pass rate.
MECs will be stationed around the province tomorrow to monitor the start of the academic year.
