Additional one billion rand injected into KZN education budget

The Education MEC has revealed an additional R1 billion had to be injected into its equitable share budget due to the unforeseen COVID-19 pandemic.
Kwazi Mshengu has today been delivering his department's special adjusted budget at the KZN legislature virtual sitting.
He's revealed the portion was, among other things used to procure vital PPEs, water desk shields and water at schools.
"Programme one which is administration got 15 million.

Programme two which is public ordinary schools received R943 million.
The examinations and educations related services received R42 million.
"But we also want to indicate that given the budget cuts, the main adjustments resulted in the departments budget increasing by a net amount of R482million."
