Marta Rubilar was accosted outside her place of work, in Morningside, earlier this month.

Four heavily armed men forced her into the back of her car and drove off with her.

She was later found unharmed in Newlands East and her car was recovered in KwaMashu.

Police swooped on Asibonge Mdlalose two days later. He made another appearance before a magistrate yesterday.

The case was last week adjourned for various reasons, including that an identity parade had to be held.

That has now been done but the court's heard Mdlalose wasn't pointed out.

Nonetheless, public prosecutor Surekha Marimuthu says the State is still opposing bail and that it's relying on various other evidence.
