Accused in Durban businesswoman's abduction to stay in custody

The man arrested in connection with the abduction of a Westville woman has been remanded in custody following another court appearance.

Sandra Moonsamy was taken over a month ago in Pinetown while on her way home.
Jerry Gike made his second appearance in the Durban Magistrate's Court this morning.
He was arrested last week after being found in possession of Moonsamy's cellphone.

So far - he's facing a theft charge.
The case was postponed to next week Friday when Gike is expected to apply for bail.
Meanwhile, the Hawks are looking into the latest ransom demand the businesswoman's family received around the time of Gike's arrest.
