Two accused of attempting to kill Vryheid whistleblower ‘must stay in jail’
Updated | By Tamasha Khanyi
An activist in Vryheid wants two suspects charged with the attempted murder of a whistleblower to stay behind bars.

A municipal employee who reported alleged corruption at Abaqulusi Municipality was allegedly shot by the pair, who were subsequently arrested in Mpumalanga in May.
They are expected to apply for bail at the Vryheid Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Activist Themba Mbatha believes the suspects are a threat to the community.
"Something needs to be done. We cannot allow such a thing to happen in our community because, basically, the municipality's responsibility is to provide service delivery to the community."
