NPA boss, Shaun Abrahams, has denied accusations the probe into the Estina Dairy Project was not prioritised by the prosecuting authority.
About R220 million was pumped by the Free State government into the project meant to assist emerging black farmers.
Only R2 million was used for its intended purpose. The rest of the money was allegedly was channelled to members of the Gupta family and businesses linked to the family.
Abrahams has been asked by MPs why the NPA had seemingly dragged its feet in taking action against those who've been implicated in the project such Free State premier.
The NPA boss says it's not true that there have been no results in the Estina investigations.
"The investigations are advanced with search and seizures having been conducted and arrests having been affected against three government officials, the director of Estina and three directors of companies that have received the proceeds of crime.
"The latter companies and directors were charged with offences of theft, money laundering and contraventions of the Companies Act. There remains outstanding aspects and it is for this reason that the matter has been postponed to August 17," Abrahams said.
