Abandoned infant found near Chatsworth

Durban police have opened a case of child abandonment after an infant boy was found on the side of a road near Chatsworth.

Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says it appears the baby was left there on Thursday night.
"We can confirm that a case of child abandonment has been opened for investigation at the Chatsworth police station, after a two-week-old baby was found by a passerby in Savannah Park on Friday morning."
"The baby was found on the side of the road, in a secluded area," says Gwala .
Gwala says police are searching for the suspect.
