A first for SA as gamers compete in FIFA championship

Two youngster have made South Africa proud by becoming the first two gamers to represent the country at a global FIFA competition.

20-year-old Shiaan Rugbeer and 22-year-old Ryan Bastos, competed in the inaugural FIFA eNations Cup 2019 in Maidstone, London.
As team SA - the pair was placed in Group A along with England, Finland, France and Saudi Arabia.
The pair exited the tournament during its group stages. They are due back in the country this week.
France came out on top in yesterday's final against Argentina.
As a growing sport in South Africa, FIFA says the online gaming competition will be the first of more opportunities for SA and African players.
