888 new COVID-19 cases, 83 more deaths

Eighty-three more people in South Africa have lost their lives, after they'd contracted Covid-19, bringing the coronavirus death toll to 17 863.

The number of cases identified so far has gone up to more than 693 000 after 888 new infections were recorded in the last 24 hours.
Over 624 000 people have recovered from the virus.
