8 injured after taxi ploughs into Umvoti toll plaza
Eight people have been rushed to hospital after a taxi ploughed into a toll booth at the Umvoti toll plaza.
Paramedics found the fully loaded minibus had slammed into the structure on the north coast.
Medi Response spokesperson Paul Herbst says the injured were treated for minor to moderate injuries.
He says it's alleged two vehicles were driving in convoy and overtaking, forcing the taxi to swerve to avoid a collision.
The southbound lane is severely affected.
