70 injured as bus overturns in Pietermaritzburg

KwaZulu-Natal paramedics are on scene of an accident involving a bus that overturned in Pietemraritzburg.

Seventy people have been hurt after the bus they were travelling in overtunred.
KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services spokesperson, Robert Mckenzie says it is believed that the double-decker bus was parked at the top of Chatterton Road when the accident happened.
"Passengers have been assessed by paramedics. Many of them have been taken to hospital while others decided they did not want to receive further medical treatment and stayed at the scene."
Mckenzie says police are also at the scene, investigating.Paramedics are treating 70 patients at the scene of a bus crash. It occurred on the Chatterton onramp ( which is now closed) to the N3 north bound. Most pts have minor injuries. pic.twitter.com/skFkWUhPlN
