Seven suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of Gauteng health official and whistleblower Babita Deokaran.

Deokaran, who had been assisting with an investigation into a personal protective equipment tender scandal at the Gauteng Health Department, was shot dead outside her Johannesburg home on Monday shortly after she'd dropped her child off at school.
The 53-year-old was a witness in the SIU probe into the tender scandal.
National police spokesperson Brenda Muridili says the suspects were caught on Thursday.
