7 killed in KZN taxi accident
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
7 people have been killed in a single vehicle accident along the R56 between Umzimkhulu and Ixopo this morning.

It is thought the fully loaded minibus left the road and went down an embankment. It's not clear how it became to be that the driver lost control. It comes as transport authorities are working to reduce the number of accidents and fatalities on our roads this festive season.
Among services that responded was KZN EMS.
Its spokesperson, Robert McKenzie says the taxi landed in a body of water at the bottom of the embankment.
"Seven people, including two boys sustained fatal injuries. Paramedics treated 15 passengers for injuries ranging from minor to critical and taken to to hospital", he said.
"It is believed the minibus was transporting people from Johannesburg to Mount Fletcher. Exact details are not known and are being investigated by police", McKenzie said.
