7 elderly churchgoers killed in Mpumalanga crash

Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety Florence Radzilani has sent her condolences to the families of seven elderly people who died in a bus crash in Mpumalanga.

The group, who were on their way to church, were killed when the bus they were travelling in veered off the R37 towards Lydenburg.
The bus went down a cliff on Friday.

They were members of the Lutheran Church congregation from Mogalakwena Local Municipality.
"According to reports, the deceased were a part of a group of 'golden boys and girls,' who were traveling to Mpumalanga for a church activity, their bus overturned due to a tyre puncture.
"The MEC learned of this accident yesterday in the evening, and has sent messages of condolences to the families of the victims and also wished a speedy recovery to the survivors," said MEC spokesperson Vongani Chauke.
