50 stolen vehicles recovered by KZN SAPS
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
Police in KZN are urging motorists who have recently been victims of a hijacking or theft of vehicles to get in touch with their Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit.
This after the men and women in blue seized 50 vehicles during a three-week operation. One suspect has been arrested - but investigations continue. The man is believed to be part of a syndicate that allegedly steals or hijacks vehicles before selling them with altered identification numbers.
The police's Thulani Zwane says victims can make their way any of their specialised unit branches which can be found across the province.
"Our specialised units are all over. There is a branch in Pietermaritzburg, Durban, Port Shepstone and in Empangeni", he said.
"There can go to any of those branches and will get assistance in getting their vehicles back", Zwane said.
He says more arrests are expected.
