The weekend has ended tragically for four people, who lost their lives in an accident on N2 near Umkhanyakude.
They were travelling in a minibus, in the Kandova area yesterday afternoon, when the vehicle overturned.
Robert McKenzie, who is with the KZN Emergency Medical Services, says nine other people were injured.
''Paramedics stabilised at least nine other patients several of them who were critically injured before transporting them through to a hospital,'' he said.
It is unclear at this stage what exactly led to the horrific crash.
Paramedics say in another accident a biker was killed on the N2 near Wilsons Cutting near Izingolweni also yesterday afternoon.
