5 accused added to World Cup corruption case to appear in court in May

The NPA's Investigating Directorate says the five people added to the corruption case against a Durban businessman and former KZN police commissioner, will make their first court appearance in May.
Thoshan Panday, Mmamonnye Ngobeni and former cops, Navin Madhoe and Ashwin Narainpershad are facing fraud and corruption charges linked a multi-million rand accommodation tender during the 2010 Soccer World Cup.
The Directorate's Sindo Thwala says the five suspects are Panday's relatives.

"The five are likely to appear at the Durban Regional Court first. The court further heard that all nine accused will then appear together for a pretrial hearing."
The former policemen are accused of colluding with Panday to receive contracts from the KZN police.
