46 charges brought against Verulam man accused of rape

The Verulam man accused of raping his stepdaughter will face 46 charges when he goes on trial.

The case been postponed to next month.
State Prosecutor - Cheryl Naidoo handed up a 56 page indictment today saying the case will be heard in the Durban High Court on the 15th of May.
Detailed in the indictment is the abuse the little girl allegedly suffered at the hands of the 44-year-old man for several years. A pre-trial date is expected to be heard at the man's next appearance.
Witness statements and a photo album will also be handed up then. Naidoo said digital evidence will not be handed over and that the defence can view it at their offices.
The girl's family was left in tears today after the charges against the man were detailed in court.
