43 arrested for illegal weapons in KZN police operation

Police in KwaZulu-Natal say they will widen efforts of ridding the province of illegal firearms and ammunition.
Officers conducted an intelligence-driven operation were forty-three suspects were arrested.
The week-long raid took place in eThekwini, Umgungundlovu, Umkhanyakude, Umzinyathi, King Cetshwayo, Uthukela and Zululand - and wrapped up on Sunday.
42 illegal firearms and 624 rounds of ammunition were seized.

Police say the weapons will be sent for ballistics testing - to determine whether these are linked to other crimes.
