WATCH: SARS crushes illegally imported vehicles in KZN
Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
The South African Revenue Service has destroyed almost 30 vehicles, valued at around R3.5-million, that were seized in KwaZulu-Natal during the course of the last financial year.
As per their customs declarations, some were meant to be exported on but never were.
Some were driven into the country with false licenses and registrations and others had no customs declarations whatsoever.

The acting chief officer for SARS' Customs and Excise, Beyers Theron says the vehicles need to be taken off the roads.
He says many of the vehicles brought into the country illegally are used to commit crimes and tracing them can be almost impossible.

A decision has now been taken to crush them instead.
