4 people killed, 3 injured in KZN collision

Four people have been killed and three injured in a head-on collision on the R614 in Tongaat, north of Durban.

Two victims, from one of the vehicles, lost their lives before medical responders arrived on the scene.
IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says three others, from the same vehicle, were critically hurt last night.
They found another person severely entrapped in the wreckage.

"Unfortunately the patient went into cardiac arrest prior to being extricated and despite advanced life support intervention, he was declared dead on scene.
Two patients were transported to a hospital in a critical condition, shortly after arrival to the hospital, one of the patients died.
Two occupants from the second vehicle were lucky to escape from minor injuries.
