39 arrests in KZN rhino poaching incidents

Wildlife officials say rhino populations remain under threat, with 59 animals having been poached in KwaZulu-Natal so far this year.
Ezemvelo KwaZulu-Natal Wildlife's Cedric Coetzee says around 55 rhino had been slaughtered for their horn during the same period last year.
He says security teams - who are working with police - are continuing to make arrests.
"We have arrested 39 people this year and we have seized 16 firearms - together with the SA police," Coetzee said.
According to the Department of Environmental Affairs, some 769 rhino were poached in South Africa last year. 142 were killed in KZN.
