This is according to the Independent Electoral Commission in KZN.

It gave an update on voting in the municipal polls on Tuesday.

Speaking from the provincial results centre in Durban, the commission's Ntombifuthi Masinga said the figure doesn't include the manual votes that need to transferred into the system.

"The people that voted that were drawn from the VDMs, yesterday when they closed they were sitting at 1 913 309, those that were administer via MEC servants were 50 403."

Masinga said they've completed vote counting and capturing in three municipalities.

"That is more in Mpofana Municipality which has got 27 voting districts, Endumeni Municipality eDundee, which got 24 voting districts and Emadlangeni Municipality in Utrecht , which had got 35 municipalities.

“We have concluded capturing results in those three municipalities. They are not going to be immediately available because they still have to go through auditing which is currently underway in those offices."
