35 residents in court after Kokstad protests

A group of 35 community members are expected to appear before the Kokstad Magistrate's court today following recent arrests in that area.
Locals there have been engaged in a number of protests linked to service delivery.
Last week, a group of 11 people appeared in the same court for their involvement in the violent demonstrations.

The NPA's Natasha Ramkisson-Kara says face two charges.
"The 35 accused in this matter are expected to appear at the Kokstad Magistrate's Court this morning. They face charges of public violence as well as malicious damage to property," she said.
