30-hour maintenance plan for Midmar Dam treatment works
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
Residents supplied by Umgeni Water are being assured that their water supply will not be affected during maintenance on the Midmar Dam treatment works.
The dam supplies parts of the eThekwini, uMsunduzi,
and uMgungundlovu municipalities.
The maintenance, which is expected to last for 30 hours, will start at eight o'clock tomorrow morning, and should be done by Wednesday afternoon.
The utility's Shami Harrichunder says the maintenance is necessary - to ensure an improved water supply service for the areas supplied by that dam.

He's also urged residents to use water sparingly during this period - to avoid any shortages.
"Umgeni Water has increased production of potable water and it's begun supplying additional water. Umgeni Water will continue supplying water to the municipalities right up to the eve of the shutdown - in order to prevent a risk of water shortages occurring," he said.
Here are the areas that will be affected by the water cuts.
