Three people have escaped unharmed after a light aircraft
had to perform an emergency landing on the beach near Virginia in Durban North.

Emergency services were called to the beach at about 4.30pm this afternoon.
Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen says they found the plane
on the sand along the shoreline.
“The three occupants of the plane were lucky to escape without sustaining any injuries. What lead to the pilot needing to perform an emergency landing is still unknown at this stage. The circumstances behind the incident will be investigated by the Civil Aviation Authority,” he said.
Crews are still on the beach moving the plane up the beach and away from the water.
