Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Three men are due to appear before the Verulam Magistrate's Court today, after they allegedly assaulted, kidnapped and murdered a 22-year-old man.
Samkelo Cele was apparently been accused of stealing dagga in the Mahlabathini area two weeks ago and was bundled into a taxi.
SAPS spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says he was driven from Tongaat to Verulam and then killed.
An intensive investigation that was conducted by Tongaat detectives led police to the arrest of the suspects aged between 20 and 29.
The men took police to the crime scene at Cottonlands in Verulam.
They pointed out the body of Cele which was burnt beyond recognition in the bushes.

Meanwhile, Gwala says that two suspects will line up in the Durban Magistrate's Court today, facing charges of possession of a stolen vehicle.
The 18 and 20-year-olds were caught while they were travelling along Sandile Thusi Road and in the Toyota Quantum, which had been stolen from the Chatsworth Taxi rank.
Gwala says were nabbed on Wednesday - an hour after the crime was reported.
"The Durban Central police members reacted to information about a stolen vehicle, which was being chased from Chatsworth and was headed towards Durban."
The suspects will also be charged to a case of theft of vehicle opened in Chatsworth. They will also be profiled to check if they are linked to other cases reported in Chatsworth and surrounding areas.
