Six people are in recovery after being hurt in two separate collisions that left three others dead in Durban.
Both accidents happened in Phoenix over the weekend.
In Sunday night's crash, paramedics say a car appears to have veered off the road at the intersection of Canehaven and JG Champion drives.
KZN VIP's Gareth Naidoo says one of the victims died after she was ejected from the vehicle while it rolled down an embankment.
A second body was found inside the car. Two people were seriously injured.

"KZN VIP medics, together with another private ambulance service, managed to stabilise two other patients and rushed them off to hospital. The cause of the accident un unconfirmed at this stage and all necessary services were in attendance."
On Saturday night, a car overturned on the M41 Phoenix off-ramp, killing one person.
Naidoo says the fire department had to extricate the victim from the car.
"One patient was sadly declared deceased on scene whilst four others were treated and transported to hospital for injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The road had to be closed for at least three hours due to the recovery of the vehicle."
