Three people from KwaMachi near Harding have died after lightning struck a tree they were standing close to.

40 others were injured during the incident last night.
EMS spokesperson, Robert McKenzie, says the injured were attending an open air church service when tragedy struck.
"The injured patients were treated on scene," he said.
"They were complaining mostly about pains in their hands and necks. They were then transported to hospitals by paramedics," McKenzie said.
