2017 IEB results: KZN achievers hope to give back to community
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Celebrations are still underway for private school pupils who wrote their IEB papers last year.

The results came out yesterday.
Siphesihle Ntuli of Crawford College North Coast says he wants to study mechanics to help make a difference in communities across the country. Ntuli achieved seven distinctions.
"Being a hands-on person, I've always been interested in making people's lives better and easier. Pursuing engineering is the easiest way I can do that. I'm trying to incorporate manpower, mechanical things and robotics. And by the age of 35, 40 - I want to eventually go into astrophysics," he says.
Meanwhile, Crawford La Lucia's Bobby Arek-Bawa bagged eight distinctions.
He says it's been a difficult year but he's thankful for the support he received from his family.
"I received a lot of support from my family throughout the period so it's just a wonderful experience overall. Even though it was tough, it really did pay off in the end. I'm grateful to God and thankful about it. Hopefully, in future when I pursue a solid career I'll be able to not only help myself and my family, but also my community," he says.
The IEB pass rate went up slightly to 98.7%. The full results of the NSC exams will be released at midnight.
