Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Two workers have been rushed to a Durban hospital after a cable roll fell and crushed them.
The circumstances around Thursday's accident in Sea View aren't yet clear.
But Netcare 911 spokesperson, Shawn Herbst, says cable roll weighed a tonne.
"The patients were removed from the cable roll and found to have sustained serious injuries to their head, neck and chest areas and were treated on scene by Emergency Care Practitioners and Netcare 911 rescue technician."
"Due to the nature of one of the patient’s injuries a Netcare 911 helicopter was activated to airlift the man to a specialist facility for the care he required."
"The second patient was stabilised on scene and transported by Advanced Life Support ambulance to hospital."
