Updated | By Bernadette Wicks
Two women in Pietermaritzburg have been killed by a truck that ploughed into their home, in the Phayipini area, this morning.
Netcare 911 spokesperson, Shawn Herbst, says medics were called out the scene just before 9.30am.
"Reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a heavy motor vehicle lost control resulting in the vehicle crashing into a house," Herbst says, "Sadly two adult females from the house had sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased on the scene, another two adult males from the truck sustained minor injuries and were transported to hospital for further treatment".
The circumstances leading up to the collision are unknown but Herbst says police were at the scene and are investigating.
