2 men to appear in court for attempted murder, rape of Ntuzuma woman

Two men are due in the dock following their arrest in Durban this weekend for house robbery and rape.

Police say armed intruders gained access to a house in G-section in Ntuzuma. 


They ordered the occupants to lie down before taking several items. 


KwaZulu-Natal SAPS spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says one of the suspects then raped a 29-year-old woman.

Officers arrived as the attackers where about to make their getaway. 


"Police officers were conducting their duties at G section when they spotted two males leaving a house on Anyanisi Walk in the Inanda policing area in a vehicle. A woman was seen signalling for the police through the window, shouting for help. 


"Police then chased the vehicle with five occupants as it sped off. The suspects lost control of the vehicle and crashed onto a light pole. Police found two occupants that were trapped inside the vehicle.  


"The arrested suspects are facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property, attempted murder and house robber as well as rape they will appear at Ntuzuma Magistrates Court soon."
