2 killed in Durban motorcycle accident

A woman was thrown over a bridge and plunged to her death in a motorcycle accident that claimed two lives on the N3/M13 split west of Durban.

The accident described as horrific by emergency services took place on Sunday near Paradise Valley.
It is alleged that the motorcycle driver lost control and crashed into a safety barrier.
Emergency services on the scene say the victims were both declared dead on the scene.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst says an adult male driver who was found near the bike had sustained fatal injuries.
"An adult female passenger was thrown over the bridge into a stream below. Medics, Metro Police Search and Rescue as well as the SAPS Search, and Rescue Services found the patient approximately thirty meters below the bridge".

"The patient was assessed but also showed no signs of life and declared deceased on the scene. Circumstances leading up to the motorcycle collision with the safety barrier will be investigated by the relevant authorities," he said.
