17 eThekwini swimming pools reopen

eThekwini Municipality says it's reopened 17 of its swimming pools ahead of the festive season to allow residents and visitors to enjoy them again.

The City says some pools are still closed as they are undergoing maintenance.
The municipal pools were initally closed to the public due to Covid-19 restrictions and other faults.
The reopened pools are in Rainham, Durban North, Pipeline, Umgababa, Tiger Rocks, Umlazi D, Anstey's, Tesouriere, Tills Crescent, Arena Park, Westville, Lahee Park, Mariannridge, Chesterville, Kings Park for the Gala, South beach pool and Bayview.
"The public is also reminded that the following beaches are open for swimming: Point, uShaka, Addington, South, Wedge, North, Bay of Plenty, Battery, Country Club, Brighton, Reunion, Pipeline, Toti Main, Warner and Umgababa beaches," says city spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela.
"The following beaches remain closed until further notice. They are Westbrook, Bronze, Laguna, Thekwini , uMhlanga, uMdloti, Winkelespruit and Anstey's beaches."
