164 more COVID-19 deaths take SA's toll to 18 656

One hundred and sixty-four more people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died here in the country, bringing the death toll from the virus so far, to 18 656.
Nine of those fatalities were recorded in KwaZulu-Natal.
The number of new infections rose by more than a thousand in the last 24 hours.
The Health Ministry says over 706 000 cases of coronavirus have been identified since the outbreak, on home soil.
More than 639 000 people have beat the virus, which translates to a recovery rate of 90%.
