16 Days of Activism: Get men involved, says NGO
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
A KZN women's rights organisation says 16 days is not enough to educate men about gender-based violence.
This comes as 44-year-old suspect appeared the Umhlali Periodical Court today - facing a charge of murder.
The man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death in Shakaskraal yesterday.
South Africa is commemorating 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children.

The organisation's Cookie Edwards says while there's been too many workshops done to educate women, it's time the focus is shifted
''We also need to get men involved. There good men out there - not all men are perpetrators are violence. We're saying let's stand together and help those who have anger issues, those who can't control themselves and perpetrators. Abuse is not only about that person but it's society's problem. It is eating away at the moral values of our family and communities'' she said.
