Seven were later recaptured, while the remaining five were still at large.
Ezemvelo Wildlife KZN's Musa Mntambo says as of Wednesday night, search operations resulted in the capture of the missing five and more taking the total figure of recaptured crocs to 14.
"They managed to catch five, but not only five, because twelve was the estimated number of crocodiles that escaped. They have now caught 14 crocodiles to date as of last night yesterday. All of them might be captured."

Mntambo says during the time the crocodiles were missing, there were no reports of human interaction.
He says search operations were focused mainly around the nearby oThongathi River.
"The farm is next to the oThongathi River. We know that maybe say if there are any other crocodiles outside of the crocodile creek, they would then move towards the oThongathi River."
