10 killed in collision between bus, taxi in Mpumalanga

Ten people have been
killed in a crash involving a minibus taxi and a bus in Mpumalanga.

The collision took place on the R42 near Delmas in the early hours of Monday morning.
Provincial transport spokesperson Moeti Mmusi says it's believed the taxi, which was pulling a trailer, collided with the bus, which was on its way to Pretoria.

Eight of the victims, including the driver, were from the minibus.
Two people were travelling in the other vehicle:
"About 24 people sustained serious injuries; 18 of the injured were occupants in the bus, and six were in the minibus taxi,” says Mmusi.
“The injured were transported to a nearby hospital. It is not known at this stage what caused the crash. An investigation is already underway.”
