1 killed, 12 injured in Umgeni road crash
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
12 people have been left injured when a fully loaded taxi collided with a light delivery vehicle this morning on Umgeni in Durban this morning.

The impact of the crash was so sever that the minibus taxi had rolled several times ejecting some of its passengers in the process before coming to rest on its roof.
When emergency personnel responded they were met with absolute carnage and chaos. The crash saw some of the occupants still trapped inside the vehicle.
Garrith Jamieson, who's from KZN VIP Medics says one person, a female, was killed.
"On assessment it was found that a female believed to be in her 20s had sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing more paramedics could do for her and she was declared 'deceased on scene' ", he said.
"Aproximately 12 other occupants, some who had been ejected, were found and treated on scene for injuries ranging from moderate to severe", Jamieson said.
"ALS paramedics worked to stabilize those injured before they were transported through to a nearby by hospital for the urgent care they required", he said.
