1 770 new COVID-19 infections, 158 deaths in SA

One hundred and fifty-eight more people have lost their lives in South Africa, after contracting COVID-19, bringing our death toll to 18 309.

The Health Department says KZN's reported 38 fatalities in the last 24 hours and has over 5 700 active cases.
More than 1 700 new infections registered across the country - the national tally of stands at over 698 000.
The recovery rate remains at 90 percent.
