1 443 people in KZN arrested for flouting lockdown rules

Over 1 400 people have been arrested for contravening the national lockdown regulations in KwaZulu-Natal.
This is according to Transport and Community Safety and Liaison MEC, Bheki Ntuli.
He says law enforcement are serious about clamping down on those who are flouting the rules.
"One thousand four hundred and forty-three [people have been arrested for various offences]. Some of them are still being investigated, some have been able to go through court proceedings, and others have been given bail."

He says they will continue being on the ground to enforce the lockdown regulations.
Ntuli was speaking in KwaDukuza, north Durba
He was in the area today to monitor roadblocks and to conduct raids on taverns.
