In-person lectures resume at DUT after student protests
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The Durban University of Technology has reopened its doors, to students, for in-person lectures.

The campus began holding classes remotely last week after student protests disrupted lessons.
Staff and non-protesting students complained they were being threatened and intimidated by demonstrators.
Protesting students raised issues with the online banking system eZaga introduced for NSFAS recipients, calling on management to intervene.
The DUT released a statement on Monday night saying their concerns are being addressed.
"The decision was taken by the members of the Executive Management Committee (EMC) and the Senate Executive Committee (Senex), which included the Student Representative Council (SRC).
"The university extends its sincere gratitude to all staff and students for their unwavering patience and understanding during the period when the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) was addressing the payment challenges faced by some of our students.
"The university also commends the staff and students for their commitment to the interim online learning, temporarily implemented last week. The university looks forward to welcoming the students back on campus on Tuesday, 15 August 2023."
